Vladimir Bessonov should be an import. - I will make that change as well. He's not an import because he was signed out of the Canadian Minor Hockey system. You can take it to the bank, I've watched the Ice Dogs all season. They had two imports in Engelbrecht (who was cut) and Insam. Bessonov is not an import. Sorry to burst your bubbles.

I was told by Mike B that players who still remain in the CHL stay active on the roster. They only get cut if they turn pro.

OK I did my first updates on the league files and then uploaded everything to the site. There is a new league file in place, reflecting the latest trades and roster repairs. I would appreciate if someone could grab the file and check it out to make sure everything looks right and it's usable.

Bessonov is a prospect that has to be created, whether he be import or not.
Also, if a player is playing in any other league other than the OHL, for example Ontario Junior A, B,C etc... Are they going to be cut as well?

No if they have played in the real OHL and were cut than the remain active in our league. Just a sec.... I will upload the league rules.....most of this stuff is in the updated version..

Bessonov was signed as a free agent. That confirms that he is NOT an import as the CHL rules clearly state that you cannot sign an import as a free agent. He must have moved to Ontario to play Tier II (St. Catherines) and that technically classified his as a local free agent. That's the best I can figure. Only players drafted in the 'import draft' are truly imports, as per the CHL rules.

I have looked over rosters and there are two first rounders that have been rated and been playing but haven't made the OHL yet. Saad - for Peterborough should be a prospect. Fowler - for Brampton should also be a prospect. Changes will take effect Sunday/Monday.

Another roster error....
Ryan MacLean was erroneously placed on Niagara in October. He was drafted by Ottawa and then traded to Kitchener. MacLean was traded to the Soo so I am trying to work out a solution for those two teams.

"There is something wrong with Jeff Brown on the Guelph Storm. He's listed as a defenseman but all other sources list him as a center for the real Oshawa OHL team. " Jerry, Jeff Brown is actually playing as a winger and not a dman in OSH. He is a rookie but is actually 17 or 18 yrs old as last yr he played Tier II in the GTA. As for Josh McQuade, you are correct, he played 1 game and got one goal--i loved his 99 scoring attribute .. Cheers, Dean OSH

We have an issue here:
Unless there are two guys with the same name, we have a Charles Sarault on the pro team in MISS.
NIA has a Charles Sarault on their prospect list.
This has to be fixed sooner than later--especially since i put an offer in with MISS for him.
Thanks, Dean

Sarault was traded from Niagara to Mississauga on Oct.23/08. So MISS is the rightful owner. I will delete that prospect from NIA.
Thanks Dean - lots of little errors like this popping up.

OK I went into the simulator and looked for Sarault and he's not listed there for NIA. So I think we have a problem with the website. If a player is added as a prospect on your depth chart then he isn't removed if you trade him. We may all have to check our depth charts to make sure they're accurate.
