I posted a reply to one of the other threads about potentially adding a salary cap for teams and players much like the NHL...just nowhere near their cap. If we did this, we could really have free agency open...sure there would be some technicalities that would open up...but I am sure that we could figure out a way around it with 50+ gms thinking about this.

I like a lot of the comments here.
I like Jerry's formula. But I also like the priorety list that works like a waiver draft.
Perhaps we could build a formula that is 50/50 ?
Or this could be a rule that is up to the league commishioner.
I really want to help the struggling teams that need help rebuilding. Useually thats because the previous GM did a piss poor job.
I also like the idea the THunderbirds had about having almost a free agent waiver draft every 30 days for example. that way we aren't sneaking in a couple free agents here and there and some GMs missing the opportunity of signing them.
If we did the every 30 days, we make league announcements about it and everyone has a shot.
so I like that as well and it gives the commishioners time to make the free agents.

I don't really like the ID to make a Free Agent draft every 30 Days !!!
Andrew, your ID was great but if we use that, the team was to be able to release any player who don't play any games in the real league to Prospect list.

I like the idea of Jerry's. In the Dub, the new commish Dave, implemented a waiver list, which seems to be working out better then the old way. I appreciate what he has done for our league so far. It might not be a bad idea about thinking of going towards Jerry's way though, as it seems like a great formula.

When I have time (hopefully soon), I will start putting Jerry's formula in code to see how it works out.
I will make it visible to everyone long before it would ever get implemented into the websites.
