I wanted to open a thread I could use to announce duties that could be delegated to GMs - that have time to contribute to the functions of the league.
I will be simming the games and in my absence I will turn to Mike B or Andrew A. for help.
I already have had offers from several GMs to help out.
Dean(OSH) was very active in saving the league and rating players during the offseason and will continue to help me manage the league.
Jeremy(KNG) has offered to help when needed.
Michael(WIN) has offered to review rosters and find active/inactive players.
I thank everyone for any help but don't feel pressured to extend yourself if you want to focus on just running your team. That's why most of us joined in the first place.
So I will make a list of things that could require some help and let me know if you any of them interest you. Thanks.

Active/Inactive Player Issues It'd be great to have someone that could, at least weekly, do a quick check to make sure players in our league are in fact eligible to be playing, based on real OHL developments. This job would be more intense at the start of the season but should be retained all season.
Free Agent Finder New players are always popping up on real OHL rosters. These players, if undrafted, become free agents for our league. A weekly review/search for new players should be done to ensure or free agent list is up-to-date. This help would be needed from the start of the season, until the trade deadline.
Re-Rating Wisemen Ideally if all GMs took a real OHL and rated them, then we'd have re-rates done quickly. But many GMs don't have the time or know-how to pull this off. So several key individuals could oversee the ratings and contribute to making the off-sesaon adjustments easier. Individuals with time available in the summer would be best suited to help out.
Trade Reviewers You will see in the new Rules that trades will no longer be evaluated by the commish - there simply isn't the time to evaluate each trade. Instead a peer evaluation sytem will be implemented. When a trade is posted there will be a brief period that other GMs can review and object to any questionable deals. If there are objections then the trade will be forwarded to a small committee of GMs (not involved in the deal or objection) to determine if the deal should be completed. I suspect this will happen VERY infrequently but we will need GMs available to review trades, is the situation arises. So anyone that could do spot duty on this time of committee would be appreciated.
I'm sure there will be more things for GMs to help out with down the road. I will do all of these things if you all decide to focus on running your teams - as, in the end, this is my responsibility as commish. But any help would be welcomed. Thanks.

I like the idea of some of the General Managers taking responsibilities of certain aspects of the SIM league. It seems that it is usually the same General Managers that are willing to take on these tasks, and I feel that we need a more league effort for alot of these tasks. Some things that I have come up with.
General Managers MIA (Missing In Action): There are times where some General Managers in the league will not be seen logging onto the site in months, or uploading lines in months. We need someone to take the task of reporting these so we can see if these General Managers are looking to continue to be in the league. If so, assist them with any questions or issues. If not, report this immediately so they can be removed from the league, and we can bring someone in right away.
GM Recruitment: Recruiting GM's through OHL boards, hockey sites etc.

I can be your Free Agent man... its not like I don't spend half my time on the OHL site every day anyways. I'll register on the board tomorrow or so.

OK Thanks for the offers everyone. I've heard from several GMs. When I get into a groove I'll let everyone know more details on how they can help.

Hey Jerry et al:
After Dec.2nd i will be able to devote more time to the league. let me know if you need assistance with whatever.
My knowledge of players in the East is stronger than those in the West.
I like the idea of having a three panel review board to review and approve all trades. I will be the first to admit, i have been on the favourable end of some of my previous trades and they probably shouldn't have been approved.
I am guilty for making some low-ball offers to get discussions going but it has pissed off some GMs and they have let me know it.
For the record, this simleague is for fun and not intended to insult anyone or their intelligence to the league.
A 3 member review board would avoid any injustices when it comes to trading.
Sorry for being a little long-winded.
Dean OSH
