This season I aloud any winger play left or right wing without proof.
Did we want to keep it this way or allow any forward play any forward position?

I like the idea that forwards can play any forward position. Some teams have way too many of one position and not enough of another. This way it helps the teams who have 9 left wingers and 2 centers. Also it's not uncommon to see forward players shuffled around in real life.

... it's not uncommon to see forward players shuffles around in real life. Agreed! I just arrived home from a week long trip around the OHL and no for sure that many players start out of position to accommodate injuries, suspensions and roster changes. If a player wants to play a winger at center than that's his choice, but his faceoff rating may suck. As long as the rates are accurate I don't care if they play them out of position. It's too bad that STHS doesn't penalize by position. So if a player is a winger than his ratings would slightly drop for the other wing, and then more for center and really bottom out if he was on defense. This way any GM could shuffle a roster, in an emergency (or not) and pay the price for playing them out of position.

I think it is a setting we have to choose in STHS...if we choose that forwards can't play any position...they have a 20% decrease in stats...Mike, am i correct?
Also, i think forwards should be able to play any forward position. The major difference will be the faceoff stat. I don't think we should penalize any forward for playing out of position...as long as it is a forward postion.

I think it's a good idea just to let them play any position in the CHL leagues...
Question: is there any way to automate these changes through the STHS client, so that the commish doesn't have to deal with this all the time? It must take quite a bit of time to do these (or it would if everyone was active and paying attention... LOL)

In version 2 of the STHS simulator, it will allow you to pick what positions a player can play. So I can say one player can play defence and left wing for example. But that is still a year away from that version.
In the meantime, go into the "league options" and select the "options #2" tab.
Go to the "roster limit" section and move "minimum centers" to 0, "minimum left wingers" to 0 and "minimum right wingers" to 0.
then, select the "Simulation" tab and check the "Forward play all positions" checkbox.
Thats it. No more messing around.
The only requirement will be a team needs 18 skaters, 2 goalies and 6 defencement dress. it will only give errors if those numbers to match.
So it should make our lives easier to run. So if you life, the commishes can make the change now.

I like the idea of having them play all positions on the forward line. There are even a few guys out there that play D and have been moved to forward as well. So they should be listed at both. Example, a team like my Seattle t-birds(real team, not sim) who are over loaded at D. We moved Sena Acolatse from D to winger.
