I know Mike is trying to get all 3 leagues lines up with similar rules. On many issues this makes sense but I'm not sure why we need to clone all the leagues.
The subtle differences are what makes each league unique. I guess the question is - are we running sim-leauges that just happen to use CHL players, or are we running a parallel league that emulates the real deal.
I thought we were/are doing the second one. Otherwise if all we are doing is using players names and attributes then we should be able to make all the rules we want, change team locations and abandon CHL reality.
Anyways I don't think all three leagues need to be identical, GMs in each league are aware of the rules and if they jump from league to league, then they should learn the procedures of that league.

I agree with leaving the leagues to have their own sets of rules etc as they have in real life. Realism is the most important thing I for one look for in sim leagues

I'm all for keeping the individual rules for your own leagues. Thats fine.
But some things need to be universal.
- Player ratings - salaries - chl import picks/draft - players gone to the nhl or pro - the programming behind the web portal (free agent bid tracker, security messures, etc...)
those need to follow the same universal rules so when we do the World Juniors and the Memorial Cup, its will all be fair when the leagues collide.
as far as trading deadlines, fines, awards, etc... you can individualize all you want.

I agree with Mike in those things being equal... for the reason he states. It wouldn't be fair to the Q mem. cup representative if we were removing pros... while the OHL representative team had guys like Drew Doughty in there...

As OHL commish I have to admit that our agenda is to win all Memorial Cups......Just like Branch!
Kidding aside I agree with Mike about those things needing to be universal.
