Tell use what you liked, did not like about free agency in the new system?
Topics to discuss could be:
- Do you like the secret bids - Do you like the 24/48 hour waiting period - Do you like the 3 step system - in the final step, do you like that there is a bit of random to the players final decision?
Right now, i looked at the code, if you have the highest bid, you have a 50% chance of winning, 30% if you are the middle bid and 20% if your the lowest bid.

I think it was good first go still some bugs to iron out but overall good.
Personally I would like to see the first set of bids open for all to see, and then hide the final 3 bids where you do your mods, I think this would be closer to NHL as most teams know what the others are bidding up until the very end. Example if you see Havlat going for 10 mill plus you can saw ok i dont want in on the final 3 for that and then go focus on say Guerin for 4 mill or something.
Final step randomness is nice. I think the stronger bids should be weighted a little higher maybe a 60 30 10 split.
How are the weightings done to determine best bid...technically a player would probably chose a 2 year 5.5 mill deal over a 1 year 5.6. Would be cool to incorporate that kind of smarts.

i love teh idea of it being secretive at all areas. it helps keep bidding reasonable so that noone pulls a Moose and bids 9 million for Fabian Brunstrom.
The signing period is fine and i like the 3 step process.
As for the final step...I am cool with it...it still allows the other two teams to have a shot at signing the player.

I totally agree with Andy. In real life no one really knows everyone else's bids unless it is leaked and this follows suit.
It also creates no guarantees, just like real life.

As frustrating as it was for a team like my own, I really enjoyed the secret bids. What are the determining factors in how a player chooses which team he goes to? I realize the Devils are not the strongest team out there, but on some players I had better offers than what they finally agreed to. I found this process only frustrating in the sense that I could have offered the world to some players and instead they would sign with a stronger skilled team at times...
Arrggghhh...
Great job though Mike!
